In this edition we catch up with Darien Brockington aka “D-Brock,” who is currently on tour with Little Brother. They stopped through H-Town and took some time to rap about what it’s like being an indie soul/R&B artist in the midst of underground hip-hop. He also reveals his “favorite” female singer and how the internet can be an aspiring artist’s best friend. While some music lovers have slept on his incredible crooner, they are definitely starting to wake up.
There is no shortage of great music as we showcase Darien’s catalog PLUS other phenomenal indie artists from Ioda Promonet + , Podsafe Music Network and Soulbounce (gotta love that site). We also have Fave Fitness Tip #169* designed to keep you focused off gluttony during the holidays and fun sites discovered during Cyberspaceagesoul. We’re also introducing two (2) new features to see how you like them: the Fave Throwback Song of the Week and Real Money Talks (because we could all use some more cheese!).
This is a MUST LISTEN edition of the FFC – guaranteed to keep you entertained, encouraged and uplifted from start to finish!

Another great podcast Fave. I see you doing your thing and love it. Really loved you shining some light on my homie/friend/megatalented artist D Brock. I don’t have to say “keep it soulful,” you already are.
This one was chock full of greatness Fave.
Really diggin the Amber and Stacy joints. Shoo, all of them! I can’t really choose. Great music today.
Loved the interview with DBrock. Made me fall in love all over again. Had to dig out my “Somebody to Love” and rock that today. Saw him and LB in concert on Saturday. HOT show as you know! DBrock is indeed the “sexiest hype man ever!” I wanted to jump up there and dance with him. He was getting DOWN! LOL! Look for video on my page this week.
You’re so right about the side hustle and gravitating towards your passion. I’m in the process of doing that now. 2008 is going to be that year. Great advice.
See you next week!

[...] Another reason I’m feeling Little Brother is that they have one of my favorite soul singers, Darien Brockington on tour with them. According to Phonte, he’s working as “one of the sexiest hype men alive.” Nothing but the truth. (If you don’t know about DBrock and his album, Somebody To Love, you better ask somebody.) Darien sings the hook on most of the songs and gets down. I was two seconds from getting up there and partying with him. You’ll see what I mean when you view the videos. My camera mysteriously got a mind of it’s own and kept swinging in his direction. Check out an interview with Darien where he talks about touring with Little Brother. [...]
